When I think of freewriting I think of a raw piece of material that will never be perfect, but it can help you get out everything you need to express. Freewriting helps get a lot of emotions out, especially if you have no one to talk too. It also is a way of writing that is more fun than normal because it is no pressure. So many people freewrite on a day to day basis with their journals and diaries. You can mess up on stuff or repeat words multiple times if you want. Freewriting is all about what you are thinking about in your head, all you do is write it down.
When I start to write I will read things over and over again until I fully understand the topic-- sometimes it takes me a while to get it one hundred percent. Then I am going to write my outline, which is one of the hardest parts in my eyes. I have always felt that coming up with the first couple sentences is the most tedious of all. After I finish doing all of that I can usually write the rest in the matter of 30 minutes. I do take a while to start on writing though because I have to stare at the page for about 15 minutes. I used to dread taking the timed writings in high school because it would always take me so long to do them. After I am done with my paper I will get a few of my friends to read over it and give me there feedback so I can fix what is needed and I make sure I get the best grade I can get.
