, do you think that the text is rhetorically persuasive? Respond using specific examples from the text as well as some of the rhetorical terms that we discussed in class.
In my opinion Freakonomics is rhetorical. In the book Levitt and Dubner say things that make you think about how you would feel if the situation was happening to you by using pathos in there passage. I think of the bagel story, if you found out that people were not paying for the bagels and you were one of the few that did how would that make you feel? Would it make you stop paying for the bagels? This book makes you ask questions to yourselves about ethics and what you think is right. Also they have a lot of facts and things to verify why we should feel the way we do using logos, in the real estate argument they showed us that if the agent was selling their own home they would make a much higher profit and sell it for a higher price than if they sold the same house for someone. Levitt and Dubner also show the decrease of lynching when the Ku Klux Klan grew older after letting people know the secrets of the KKK. By knowing how to use ethos, logos, and pathos, they know how tp pull people into what they are writing and get people interested. Although they jump around a lot from story to story, that makes it better in my opinion because you never get bored with what they are saying.
